The Springwoods MUD contracts with Texas Disposal Service (TDS) to provide solid waste pickup for residents. The cost for the district’s solid waste service is included in your MUD tax rate. A 90-gallon cart is provided for each home. For replacement carts, call 246-1400 or via e-mail at MWingrove@crossroadsus.com

Set your cart by the curb by 7 a.m. on Saturday morning. Residents are allowed to put out three extra bags or items in addition to the cart. Long items that do not fit in the cart must be cut into four-foot lengths and must be bundled together. No additional item may weigh more than 40 pounds. These rules are for the safety of the TDS crewmembers.

Please remove your cart from the street as soon as possible after pickup and, out of respect for your neighbors, park it out of public view. If you plan to be out of town for the weekend, you might ask your neighbor to bring your cart in for you.

Items that are not accepted in the solid waste service include:

Refrigerators, unless they have been tagged as Freon-free by a certified CFC contractor
  • Car batteries
  • Tires
  • Paints
  • Oil, Oil Rags, Oil Filters
  • Industrial or Hazardous Chemicals
  • Fluorescent Tubes
  • Medical Waste
  • Herbicides and Pesticides
  • Radioactive Materials
  • Dead Animals
  • Branches larger than 4 inches in diameter or longer than 4 feet
  • Dirt, Sand, Concrete
  • Household Chemical Waste: Pool cleaning liquids, paint thinners etc.

Please check Compostible Collection and Recycling Guidelines on this website for information on how to get rid of yard waste and recyclable items.
